Constance (Connie) Rae French, resident of Tulsa, OK, passed from life to life on Wednesday September 24th following a valiant struggle with cancer. Connie was born March 22, 1948 in Aurora, CO to Jim and Lavonne French. A memorial service will be held October 10th at 10am at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa with Rev. Dr. Marvin Lavanhar officiating. Connie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She was a long time social worker whose early work focused on addiction studies. Later in her career, she shifted her concentration to gerontology. Connie was a devoted wife and mother who showed her love and appreciation for family and friends alike by cooking and caring for them. She delighted in planning and hosting the large gatherings that were the hallmark of her family life. She was a long time dog lover and her philanthropic passions included the ASPCA and the Pet Adoption League (PALs.) She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, James Fox; her three sons and their wives, Darin (Kristi) Benton, Dustin (Lisa) Benton, and Robert (Jennifer) Benton; sister Kathy Purser and her husband Chuck; Brother Bill French and his wife Linda as well as three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Clarehouse Hospice in Tulsa or P.A.L.S in Tulsa. All are invited to join in the celebration of Connie’s life on the 10th of October.
