Obituary of Ida Jean Bowlin

Ida Jean Bowlin, 88 and Tulsa resident, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 14, 2014 in Tulsa. Ida was born on May 26, 1926 in Perkins, Oklahoma to William Talton & Theressia Marie (Parrish) Huff. She was the youngest of 10 children, 2 brothers & 7 sisters, all preceded her in death except a sister Lara Belle Sutherland, 93 of Tulsa, OK. She and Talmage Wayne Bowlin were united in marriage on January 9, 1945 in Gainesville, Texas. This union lasted 25 years until his death in 1970. They made their home in Stillwater, Ponca City, Borger, Texas, Pringle Texas and Dumas, Texas. She moved to Tulsa from Ponca City in 1972. She worked many places, but retired from McKisick-Crosby Products as a stockman in the warehouse in 1988. She is survived by her children, Clara Butcher & husband Jim of Vinita, OK, Judy Preston & husband Carlos of Milton, FL., Kenneth Bowlin & wife Candy of Sapulpa, OK, Jack Bowlin and Leon Bowlin of Tulsa, OK. , sister Clara Belle and many nieces, nephews and friends, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 6 sisters and one grandson, Jason Bowlin. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Ponca City. Following the graveside service the family will be having a reception and invite all to come and share memories and stores of Ida at the Country Kitchen, 622 W. Highland, Ponca City, OK.
