Obituary of Bob Lee Rhea

Bob L. Rhea, 87, Tulsa resident since 1961, died December 5, 2014 at home of natural causes. He was born in Chickasha, OK on November 22, 1927. He served in the Navy in WWII, an expert in sonar. He married Tommie Lue Heatley of Mangum, OK in 1949. They enjoyed 57 years together until her death in 2007. Bob worked for Southwestern Bell Phone Company from 1950 to 1986 with a distinguished career, including about two years at Bell Labs in New York City. Mr. Rhea was ultimately promoted to District Plant Engineer for Eastern Oklahoma. Bob was a prominent member of the Oklahoma Society of Professional Engineers. He enjoyed RC modeling and was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church and a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his only child, Rick. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 11th at the Ninde Brookside Chapel.
