Obituary of Eugene Madison Hambright

Eugene Madison Hambright, 83, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was born July 13, 1931 in Sapulpa, OK to Vandean and Allie Hambright. He graduated from Oilton High School in 1949 and attended Hayes State College. He began working for Texaco while in Tulsa, OK and was later transferred to Hayes, KS. He worked his way up in the company from working in the fields to the position of pipe purchaser and was then transferred to Salem, IL. Subsequently he was transferred to Kingfisher, OK where he retired after 38 years of employment. After retirement from Texaco he married his wife Myrna. They enjoyed buying and updating rental property, gardening, landscaping and home improvement projects. He enjoyed relaxing and watching sports and playing the lottery. He was a great family man. He put the Grand in Grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Charlsie; his siblings, Carolyn, Aleen and Darrel; and three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Myrna, of the home; daughters, Karen Eck of Santa Rosa, CA; Judy Becker and husband Steve of Aurora, IL; Paula Butts of Tulsa, OK; Sue Ann Schirmer of Santa Monica, CA; Linda Hayman and husband Mike of Skiatook, OK; Janice Blair and husband Jim of San Pablo, CA; Debbie Littlefield of Tulsa, OK; Teresa Glasco of Tulsa, OK; and Denise Seaborn and husband Randy of Coweta, OK; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Bo Bohannon of Big Springs, TX; and sisters-in-law Barbara Hambright of Claremore, OK and Blanche McHugh and husband Bob of Austin, TX. Eugene will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel and he will be laid to rest in the cemetery following the service. Ninde Brookside Chapel ninde.com 918-742-5556
