Obituary of Mary Katherine Stacy

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary Katherine (Puckett) Stacy was born November 16, 1919 in Picher, OK to John & Mary Katherine (Walker) Puckett and passed from this life on July 18, 2015 at the age of 95. She was a long time resident of Okmulgee, OK. She raised her children in what is now Crosstown Pentecostal Church. She worked at Butler's Cafeteria for many years; until it closed. After retirement she took care of her great grandsons and was a nanny to many more. She was continually helping those in need. After moving to Tulsa she started a food pantry at Bethel Worship Center; she also cooked and served meals at the John 3:16 Mission and the Tulsa Day Center. She never met a stranger and showed love to everyone; often bringing them home for a home cooked meal or going to the store to buy them groceries. She resided at The Village in Broken Arrow the last three years where she was well taken care of. You could find her dancing her way to meals and spreading joy most any day; she loved and was loved by all there. This world got to enjoy her for 95 years and now it is heaven's turn but she will be missed dearly. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John B. Smith and Edgar Stacy; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles R. and Betty Smith; her daughter-in-law, Jennie Smith; her granddaughter, Connie Sue Gunter and great granddaughter Dawn Marie Miller. She is survived by her daughters, Jean Miller Reynolds and Ruth Gunter (and her husband, Coyie); her sons and daughter-in-laws, James R. & Nilah Smith, John B. & Annette Smith, and Billy L. Smith; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mary will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Worship Center, 415 S. Memorial, Tulsa, OK. She will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
