Obituary of Naomi May Denham

Naomi May Denham was born on July 7, 1931 in Weir, KS to John and Alpha Lorene (Snyder) Denham. Naomi passed from this life in Tulsa, OK on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the age of 84. She worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company retiring as a Regional Supervisor and was a longtime member of West Tulsa United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl A. Denham and wife Carol Denham, and John E. Denham and wife Betty Denham, and an infant sister, Donna Marie Denham. She was also preceded in death by nephews Jerry Denham and Jimmy Denham. Naomi is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Bob Rhodes of Tulsa, OK; nieces, Sue and Lynn Peery of Ardmore, OK, Kay Holley of Ardmore, OK, Sherri and Jim Rodgers of Broken Arrow, OK, and Becky and Randy Lasater of Denver, CO; and a nephew, John Michael Denham and Claudia of Tulsa, OK. Naomi is also survived by great nieces, D’Andra White of Durant, OK, Rachel Phillippe of Norman, OK, Becky Potter of Norman, OK, Jill Evans of Broken Arrow, OK, Kym Lindsay of Broken Arrow, OK, Michelle Christian of Terlton, OK, Heather Burt of Inola, OK, Amanda Cartwright of Tulsa, OK, and Amber Swearingen of Tulsa, OK; great nephews, Devin Peery of Ardmore, OK, Dereck Peery of Ardmore, OK, Jeff Lasater of Denver, CO, Matthew Lasater of Denver, CO, Jeremy Denham of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Christopher Denham of Inola, OK; and many great-great nieces and nephews. Naomi loved her family and was affectionately known by her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Nonie”. Naomi is best known as an encourager and helper to her friends and family. Naomi was active in her church and held several positions within her church, including a Trustee. Naomi cherished her relationship with the Lord and was an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. Naomi enjoyed square dancing, reading and genealogy. Traveling was a passion of hers. Naomi, her sister, Loretta and cousin, Phyllis Stokely, spent six weeks traveling to several countries in Europe. Naomi also enjoyed traveling in her RV visiting friends and family. Naomi was a former member of the Tulsa Herb Society and also involved in various Tulsa business women’s groups.
