Obituary of James Kelly Kilman

James Kelly Kilman was born June 8, 1961 in Monticello, Arkansas to Darrell and Barbara Ann (Jameson) Kilman. He passed from this life July 12, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 55. James graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1985 with a degree in Architecture. He was a distinguished architect and owner of Kilman Designs. He was a dedicated, loyal worker who strived to bring his very best to every project. James was also an extraordinarily talented artist who found great inspiration in all of his surroundings. Whether painting, sketching or creating something, he truly enjoyed every minute and he generously created many pieces for his family and friends. James loved his church and was very active at Boston Avenue United Methodist. He volunteered countless hours to the youth department and summer theater group at the church working on set designs and being part of show casts. He was also a Friend in Faith to several youth group members, a sponsor for youth trips and a member of the Boston Avenue choir. Likewise, James was dedicated to the missions’ team and participated in a trip to Slovakia. He was also member of the Boston Avenue Building Committee working to ensure the integrity of that amazing church structure was upheld. James also dedicated time and service to Boy Scout Troop 20 and made a huge impact in the many lives he encountered. He was very proud of his children and loved spending time with them. He was always encouraging of their talents and was committed to helping them excel in all of their endeavors. James was proceeded in death by his mother, Ann Kilman and his brother, Kendall Kilman. He is survived by his two daughters and a step-daughter, Renee Kilman, Darryl Kilman, Amy Dane and her husband, Greg; his father, Darrell Kilman and his wife, Annell of Conway, AR. James touched more lives than anyone will ever know and he will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Boston Avenue Methodist Church.
