Obituary of Constantine Andrew Zaferes

Constantine Andrew Zaferes was born in New York City, NY on December 9, 1932 to Andrew & Stella (Isaris) Zaferes and fell asleep in the Lord at home surrounded by family on August 1, 2016 at the age of 83. Dino (as he was fondly called) proudly served in the United States Army serving in the Honor Guard and upon his return stateside he worked as a bus driver for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of New York City. A man of faith as well as possessor of a strong work ethic he was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Tulsa. He loved his God, his family and his country. Dino was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Luke Zaferes and Thomas Zaferes. He is survived by his wife, Athanasia (Marinakis) Zaferes of the home; his sons, Peter Zaferes and his wife Maria of Tulsa, OK and John Zaferes and his wife Renee and Andrew Zaferes and his wife Ginger, all of Owasso, OK; his sister Irene Zaferes and his brother, Demetri Zaferes both of Broken Arrow, OK; and 8 grandchildren, Bailie, Natalie, Grace, Katie, Jackie, Luke, Ava and Christopher; his niece, Andrea; and many extended family members. Dino will lie in state 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and a Trisagion will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, both at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. The liturgy will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and he will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Sunday School Program, 1222 S.
