Obituary of Mildred M. Busch

Please share a memory of Mildred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
There were reasons they were called The Greatest Generation. Our mother was one of those reasons. Mildred Marinkovich Busch passed away December 27, 2016 at age 95. Born the daughter of Steve and Mary Marinkovich in New Brighton, PA on September 29, 1921, she would often recount the days of growing up during the Great Depression, and how fortunate they were to have a small farm so there was always food. She worked as a telephone operator and later supervisor for Bell Telephone. During WWII, she did “man’s work” at B&W Steel. A few years after the war, she met Al Busch on a trip with friends to Pymatuning Lake in PA. They married March 7, 1949 and a new branch of the Busch family had its beginnings. Along with Al she raised two boys, Gary and Chris, and a daughter, Sharon. When the third, Sharon, started Oral Roberts University in 1973, Mildred and Al left their roots, their dream home, and their jobs to move to Tulsa. Millie, as her friends called her, worked caring for the elderly patients at University Village and later worked as a supervisor in the Correspondence Department at Oral Roberts Ministries where she retired in 1986. She had a steadfast faith in Jesus, whom she met at a Kathryn Kuhlman meeting in the late 40’s. And she had a heart for anyone in need - family, friend, or stranger. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 2003. Also her sisters Helen and Mary, and brothers Michael, Steve, and Ray. Mildred is survived and celebrated by two sons and their wives, Gary and Sheryl Busch of Houston, TX; Chris and Linda Busch, and daughter Sharon Daniel of Tulsa; by grandchildren Tina Cook (Cody), Kim Mohaupt (Scott), Catherine Busch, Ryan Busch, and Aaron Daniel: and, by five great grandchildren, Cale, Jack, and Ella Cook and Sam and Kate Mohaupt. She believed in hard work, great food, a clean house, and a strong faith. But foremost she believed in and practiced love. Along with all she was and did, it was love that made her great. And that will be her timeless legacy. Visitation 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and graveside service 2:00 p.m. Friday, Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to either Grace Hospice, 6400 S.
