Obituary of Eula "Jean" Smith Cacy

Please share a memory of Eula to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eula “Jean” (Smith) Cacy passed away peacefully on February 27, 2017 in Leander, Texas, surrounded by family. Jean was born on January 6, 1930 in DePew, OK to Ruth (Vines) and John Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight, her sister, Faye (McSpadden) Price and is survived by her sister, Doris (Hunter) Sage. She married Dwight Cacy (deceased) on August 20, 1948. They were married for 57 years. Dwight and Jean had four children: Ron (Kathy) Cacy, Brenda (Denny) Schey, Sheryl (Gene) Pore, and Diane (Dan) Wienczkowski. Jean was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who loved to spend time with her family, was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and found great joy in loving and serving others. She was an avid “wild flower” gardener, loved to travel, sew beautiful quilts, read, and play board games. She had a quick wit, youthful curiosity, and contagious joy for life. She was a light in the lives of those who knew her. Jean and Dwight lived in Findlay, OH for more than 20 years and relocated back to the Tulsa area (Owasso) after her husband’s retirement from Marathon Oil Company. She later moved to the Austin area to live with her daughter, Brenda, and family. Though she has left this earthly life, we know that she is now joyfully reunited in heaven with Dwight. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. A celebration in memory of Jean’s life is being held on Monday, March 6th at 10 am at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5111 S. Memorial Dr. Tulsa, OK.
