Obituary of Karen Rae Mott

Please share a memory of Karen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Karen Rae (Wehenkel) Mott went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 4, 2017 after complications from a year-long battle with cancer.  Karen was born November 26, 1942 to Ranold Archie Wehenkel and Margaret Elvira (Mader) Wehenkel in Orchard, Nebraska.  Karen was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church LCMS in Broken Arrow, OK.

She grew up in Orchard, NE.   Her greatest desire was for others to come to know Jesus Christ and have faith in His atoning sacrifice of our sins.

Karen was married to Dennis Lee Mott of Verdigre, NE on May 15, 1965  The couple moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa and Omaha NE where  Karen was employed at the Omaha Federal Land Bank.  Karen and Dennis then moved to Superior, WI and, in 1974, the couple moved to Stillwater, OK where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church LCMS.  After earning her undergraduate degree at OSU, Karen began a career in the Oklahoma State University Office of Admissions where she was in charge of transfer credit evaluations. Karen will be sorely missed but we are comforted knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Elvira (Mader) Wehenkel and father, Ranold Archie Wehenkel.  She is survived by her husband: Dennis Mott of Bixby, OK, two children and their families: Nicole & Rod Weaver of Jenks, OK, and Bryan and Rebecca Mott of Bixby, OK, and three grandchildren: Grayson Weaver of Jenks, OK, and Andrew and Brooklyn Mott, both of Bixby, OK.  Karen is also survived by three sisters: Randi Brozek of Lake Jackson, TX, Pam Hahn of Orchard, NE, and Connie Carpenter of Gloucester, VA.

A memorial service will occur 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow, OK.

Karen’s extended family and friends will truly miss her energetic presence and abiding love as does the immediate family.
