Obituary of Peggy M. Cardwell

Peggy Maxine Cardwell was born on January 2, 1930 on a farm near Stroud, OK to John Lay and Irene (Byars) Lay.  Peggy passed from this life on Friday, November 24, 2017 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 87.
Married March 20, 1948 in the Texas panhandle, Peggy and husband Aubrey Louis Cardwell lived for a short while in Midland, TX before moving to Tulsa, OK.
Peggy was a homemaker for most of her married life, to the benefit of her children while growing up.  Later she worked for Consumer's Oil Company and subsequently as a neonatal nurse's aide at Hillcrest Hospital.
Peggy was a longtime member of Crosstown Church of Christ, joining over 50 years ago when it was known as Eastside Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Aubrey; sisters Virginia Alene and Carmaletia; step-brother Bill Lay (Elston); and a son, Michael Lee Cardwell.  She is survived by her daughter; Teresa Lou Reed of Jenks, OK; son, Aubrey Lynn Cardwell and wife Linda, of Midland, TX, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing at Ninde Brookside Chapel, 3841 S. Peoria, Thursday, November 30th, from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
Services at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Crosstown Church of Christ with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
