Obituary of Madelyn King Ruggles Conley

Please share a memory of Madelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

                                                                  Thanks Be To God!

Madelyn King Ruggles Conley, with a sharp mind and loving heart, departed her earthly journey and its burdens of a failing body on Saturday night December 16, 2017 at 7:26 pm while in the loving arms and caress of her daughter Patricia Diane McCormack.  Her loving, devoted and caring husband, Earl stood close by and cried softly with disbelief.  His partner of 36 years, was also “… she’s my boss…” and “…she’s my left arm…” and his central focus over the last ten years as he became her protector, her provider, her caregiver.  They were a Dynamic Duo of Love and Respect.  Today, 1st Lieutenant Earl Garner Conley, the ever consummate gentleman and officer continues, with a strong 99-year-old body, his vigilant concern and quest, much like the brave Don Quixote, to care for his Madelyn.  Earl is currently serving under the loving “command” of an army of Hospice Angels, led by the ever loving and knowledgeable nurses Theresa Hidalgo, Heidi Peterson, and Karen Hines.  Along with the heart felt home health aides Jackie Willoughby, Telena Cooper and Kelsey Edwards.  They are joined by Chaplain Harry Adams, Debra Fox and Jan Peerson.  Madelyn and Earl have maintained their independent living in their independent apartment community at the Silver Arrow Estates in Broken Arrow since they moved there last May.  The family of Madelyn and Earl, also give prayerful thanks to the incredible community of the Silver Arrow residents who extend grace and support to each other with loving kindness each and every day.  We also give special thanks to fellow resident, Clyde who is a great friend and neighbor, for encouraging Diane in moving her mother, Madelyn and Earl to this great community of retirees.  And, the family thanks Miss Poochie, another fellow resident at Silver Arrow, who has extended her loving and kind help to Madelyn and Earl from almost the first day.

Among God’s many blessings and gifts to Madelyn were her children.  Madelyn absolutely cherished them all and their families, including her daughter, the beautiful “Miss Elaine” Erwin, who preceded her 1992 and her children, Scott Erwin of Oklahoma City, Elyse Masterson and her husband, Bob and their sons, Blake and Brody of Edmond, OK, Courtney Osborn and her daughter, Brionna of Tulsa, Gillian O’Neill of New York City, NY; the talented  architect, Donald R. Ruggles and his wife, Nancy and their son, Derek all of Denver, CO and daughter, Chloe Ruggles  Vine and her husband, Carl and their children, Freddy, Summer and George of Oxford, England; the wonderful “Lady” Diane McCormack and her husband, John of Tulsa and their daughters, Lisa Skully and her husband, Roy and their children, Jordan and Chelsea of New Castle, Australia and daughter, Nicole Merrill and her husband, Kent and their children, Keely, Zoey, Riley and Josey of Houston, Texas; and the ever inquisitive, Dr. Randy Ruggles of Canyon City, CO and his daughter, Lacy of California.

We, the family, give thanks to God for Madelyn’s life and love! This is the Season of Hope and we wish His Peace and Love to All, Merry Christmas.
