Obituary of Lois D. Dilday

Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lois Dean Dilday was born on June 28, 1936 in Poteau, OK to William Alfred Blaylock and Myrtle (Cook) Blaylock. She was one of ten children. Lois passed from this life on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 81.

Lois retired from Hillcrest Medical Center as a cashier where she made lifetime friends.  She helped raise and feed most of the kids in the neighborhood.  Lois loved to bake and everyone, especially requested her cakes.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Mirl Dilday; her son, James Rodney Dilday and a son-in-law, Elmer Strope.  She is survived by her children, Stephen Dilday (Claudia) of Cleveland, OK, Becky Weaver, of Tulsa, OK and Connie Strope of Collinsville, OK; a sister Jo Harmon of Hackett, AR and a brother Gene Blaylock of Foyle, OK; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Dean Dilday, Jeanine Proctor (Jereme) and Ellen Strope and 3 great-grandchildren, Kaden Proctor, Hunter Proctor and Graeson Proctor.  Even though she loved her kids, she really loved her grandkids.  She had a very special and different relationship with each of them.  They were very special to her.  She showed each of them that they were equally special to her in their own way.  She carried that sentiment on to her great grandkids also.  Lois had too many nieces and nephews to count and truly loved and cherished each one in a very special way.
