Obituary of Julia Margaret Banks

Julia Margaret (Marrs) Banks was born on February 9, 1950 in Tipp City, OH to Harold Arthur Marrs & Laura Margaret (VandeMark) Marrs. She passed from this life surrounded by family in her home on July 13, 2020 at the age of 70. Juila was a lifelong student as well as teacher. Graduating from Oral Roberts University in 1972 she went on to teach for 39 years. A follower of Christ she was a member of SpiritLife Church formerly Evangelistic Temple and served as an example to all around her. Her family remarks as to her green thumb that she emulated Will Rogers to the extent that “she never met a plant she didn’t like” and could “grow a plant out of the concrete”. Like the plants she tended she continued to bloom wherever she was planted bearing the fruit of the Spirit and drawing others to Christ. Julia is preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Charley Grace Banks. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ronald Charles Banks; her son and daughter-in-law, Tim & Kasey Banks; her daughter, Michelle Banks; her brother and sister-in-law, Dane & Darlene Marrs; her grandchildren, Olivia Banks, Ainsley Banks and Finnley Banks; and many nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at SpiritLife, 5345 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK and she will be interred at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK. In lieu of flowers contributions in Julia’s memory may be made to SpiritLife Children’s Ministry, 5345 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK 74105 Ninde Brookside, 918-742-5556
