Obituary of Cecil Barnes

Cecil H. Barnes age 73, retired warehouse foreman for Nabisco company died Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Hall of Clinton, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will be in the Park Grove Cemetery. Mr. Barnes was born on November 25, 1932 in Dawson, Oklahoma to Otis and Virgie (McDonald) Barnes. He enlisted in the service serving with the U.S. Army in February 5, 1953 and was honorably discharged February 4, 1955. He and Betty J. Hail were united in marriage on December 24, 1953 in Broken Arrow. He was associated with the Nabisco company as warehouse foreman for 36 1/2 years before retiring in August 1993. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where he and his wife were teachers in the preschool department. He is survived by his wife Betty of the home, 3 sons, Dwayne and his wife Patricia Barnes of Kellyville, Terry Barnes of Tulsa and Larry and his wife Maggie of Morris, 1 daughter Lisa Meister and her husband Robert of Tulsa, 2 sisters Barbara Fish of Buford, South Carolina, Aileen Wanroe of Tulsa, 1 brother, Cletus Barnes of Skiatook, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society 5110 S. Yale, Tulsa, Ok. 74135 or the Calvary Baptist Church, preschool Department, 7216 E.
