I was very sad to hear of Mary Smith's passing. As a member of Alpha Rho, I have heard so many neat stories about Mary. She was a mentor to the Sisters of Alpha Rho at its conception. I didn't know her personally but she is fondly remembered by Alpha Rho sisters. Because of Mary, the chapter, Alpha Rho over the years, has been a vital philanthropic entity in the community of Broken Arrow. My thoughts are with her Beta Gamma sisters and Okahoma ESA sisters who loved her very much. Janet Gray

Mary was a grand lady who made such a difference in the lives of all she met. I remember so well the times that she came to Alpha Rho's installation dinners. She came with a folder in her hand which contained her carefully chosen words.. words of wisdom, words of encouragement, words from her heart. I can still hear her sweet voice reading those words and see the pride on her face. She was so proud of 'her girls' and what they were accomplishing. She was our inspiration, our guiding light. The light she left in our lives will continue. The wisdom she shared will continue to guide us. We are better women for having known this grand lady.

What fond memories Alpha Rho Chapter has of Mary! She not only founded our chapter, but was a kind of "mother" to us all. Countless officers were installed by Mary, who wrote beautiful ceremonies which were usually performed from memory. She was such a joy to be around, just as she was to everyone who knew her.
