Jones, Vera Elizabeth Covey, 97, of Tulsa, passed from this life on Friday, November 17, 2006. She was born on July 16, 1909, in Jenks, OK to John Moss Covey and Virgie Bell (Adams) Covey. Vera attended Jenks Public Schools and in the 1930's went to work for the C.A. Mayo family, eventually promoted to Administrative Assistant, where she assisted the Mayo family and managed most of their extensive and prestigious properties. She stayed in that position until the late 1990's when she retired after the death of Ruth Mayo. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Donald Jones and a sister, Zelma Irene West. She is survived by a son, John Edwin Bradley Jones, of North Little Rock, AR and 2 grandchildren, Lillian Covey Jones and Casper Leonard Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.
