Obituary of Dorothy D Burris

Dorothy Dale Burris, 90, died on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa surrounded her family. She was born March 4, 1928, in Sand Springs, OK, the daughter of Vernon H. and Alice (Lancaster) Wyble. She was married to Clarence (Al) Burris, June 19, 1947.

Dorothy was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker, graduate of Tulsa Central High School Class 1945, home and business financial administrator, member of First United Methodist Church of Tulsa, a world-wide traveler, member of the Mermaids (St. John’s Women’s swim exercise group), keeper of two homes (Tulsa home and Grand Lake cabin), a life-long Democrat, an avid newspaper reader, follower of current events, television watcher and friend.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Al, sister Helen, and her parents. Survivors include: Daughter Barbara Crosby and husband Eddie; Daughter Donna Harrell and husband Steve; Son David Burris and wife Ann; and Son William Dale Burris; her sister Ruth Ash; and her brother Kenneth Wyble and wife Wanda.

Grandchildren are: Stephen Harrell Jr., Douglas Harrell and wife Daniele; Rebekah Harrell and husband Eric Miller; Amanda DePalmo, and husband Jay; Christa Hoch and husband Adam; DeAnna Robson and Grant; Matthew Burris and Becky; Tiffany Burris, and Victoria Burris.

Great-Grandchildren are: Ethan Hoch, Noah Hoch, Luke Hoch, Sarah Hoch, Whitney Robson,

Elijah Harrell, Nicolas Harrell, Josiah Harrell, Arabella Harrell, Alafair Miller, Stephen Harrell III, BrookeLynn Harrell, Kensley Burris and Maxwell Marler.

Dorothy will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21 with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and her service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 23 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
