Franklin Delano "Frank" Foster Obituary

A friend of our family told my mother, we could write a book about Franklin Foster’s life. It would begin on December 11, 1933, when he was born in Cromwell, OK to George and Marie (Clay) Foster. He moved to Jenks before starting school and graduated as a proud Trojan in 1952.

Three years later in 1955, he married Bernice (Huskey) Foster. They raised three children in Jenks, Franklin Jr., Mikie, and Linda. They spent Friday night at Jenks football games, weekends square dancing with the Hi-Jinx Square Dancers, and summers at the Illinois River. He retired from Knight Industries as a transportation manager. In retirement, he spent his time traveling with friends and family, “working” at the golf course with his buddies, and at the “office” (casino), donating money, as he liked to say. He was also a member of the Jenks Lion’s Club, the Tulsa Creek Nation Community, and key contributor to the “Main Street Memories” book about the history of Jenks.

Frank passed from this life on September 25, 2025, at 91 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Bernice, his son, Mikie, sisters Clara Mae (Todd) Francisco, Wilma Helscel, Kay Cooper, Sue Wallace and his brother, Russell Foster. He is survived by his son Frank Jr. and wife Marsha, and his daughter Linda (Foster) Frakes, his four grandchildren Jason Foster, Josh Foster and wife Brandy, Kylie Frakes and Ryan Frakes, and 4 great grandchildren.

Frank will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and his funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, both at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and Chapel.  He will be laid to rest following at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, OK.
