Billy Joe Duncan Obituary

Billy Joe Duncan, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 17, 1931, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bill lived 94 amazing years filled with love, laughter, and faith.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Macon. Following his service, he continued his life’s journey with the same dedication and curiosity that defined him from a young age. He later contributed to the nation’s space program through his work on the engineering team for the Apollo mission to the moon, something he carried immense pride in throughout his life.

He met and married the love of his life, JoAnn Weaver Duncan, and together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Bill was the proud father of three children: Tony (and wife Terri), Cindy, and Karen; and the beloved grandfather of Matt, Lauren, Mike, Duncan, and Tollie. His joy grew even greater with his great-grandchildren: Stella, Audrey, Buckey, and Tucker, who lovingly called him “Great-Papa.”

Bill was preceded in death by his devoted wife, JoAnn. Those who knew him will remember his quick wit, generous heart, and the way he could make anyone feel welcome and valued. He was a storyteller, a mentor, and the steady foundation of his family.

His life was a testament to love, loyalty, and perseverance and his legacy will continue to live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know him.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, followed by a reception in the Family Center at Memorial Park Cemetery.
