Rebecca Ann Rogers Obituary

Rebecca Ann Rogers, 92, of Owasso, Oklahoma, passed away November 2, 2025 surrounded by family.  She was born on May 23, 1933 in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Becky was one of eight children born to Helen and Floyd Hitchcock.  Her family moved to Springfield, MO when she was 3-years old, where she spent her growing up years.  Her father was a radio minister over KWTO in Springfield, MO for over 30 years.  His program was called Faith of Our Fathers.  He was also known as the “Flying Preacher of the Ozarks.”

She graduated from Central High School (Springfield) in 1951.  She then attended college at Bryan University in Dayton, TN and Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA.

At age 21, Becky joined American Airlines as an airline stewardess.  She was based in Tulsa, where she met and married her late husband, Claude H. Rogers (1931-2002).  They were married in Springfield, MO on January 7, 1956.

Becky was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Tulsa and served alongside her husband in the “young married” department.

She loved her church, family, and friends.   Becky enjoyed her home, decorating, antiques, and traveling.  When it came to traveling, Hawaii was her “happy place.”  She was a hospice volunteer at St. John’s hospice for nine years.  Becky also enjoyed being a member of the Kiwi Club, which was made up of former American Airline stewardesses.

Becky is survived by her son Tom Rogers and his wife Linda Rogers of Tulsa.  Two grandchildren, Sarah Rogers of Wichita, KS and Hannah James (husband Christian) of Tulsa.  One sister, Jody Bystrom (husband Bob) of Stillwater, MN. and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Claude, daughter Jennifer, parents, and six siblings.
