Don Loveless Obituary

Dr. Donald Everett "Don" Loveless, Sr., age 96, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was born on February 18, 1929, in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Don was the son of Ed and Nora Loveless. He grew up in a large, loving family with siblings Wilmer, Bodie, Al, Walter, Howard, Dorothy, and Larry, with whom he shared enduring bonds.

Don married the love of his life, Peggy Ragland, on June 28, 1953. Together they created a lifetime of cherished memories with their 4 children, Debbie Kindred (Kip), Don Loveless Jr. (Jana), Diane Bradley (Gerald), and Cindy Huston, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He found joy in simple pleasures and treasured moments with his wife Peggy. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and the annual family trips to Florida and Branson.

Don graduated with honors from the University of Arkansas, earning his Doctorate of Medicine. He went on to serve as a Family Practice Physician in Booneville and Benton, Arkansas, and later in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Known for his medical skill and heartfelt compassion, he was honored with the first annual Distinguished Service Award from the Booneville Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1961. In addition to his medical practice in Booneville, Don served in the Army National Guard at Fort Chaffee in Arkansas. Don and his family moved to Tulsa, OK in 1967 after being asked by Oral Roberts to be the campus physician at ORU, which he did for three years. He also started his family practice in Tulsa at the same time. Don truly loved what he did and practiced medicine faithfully until retiring at age 74.

His life was also shaped by his deep Christian faith that began during a visit to New Orleans where his brother, Al & wife, Katie, pastored a church. Don became active in prayer groups, Bible studies, speaking at Full Gospel Business meetings in Benton and later in Tulsa. Don shared his testimony in many churches throughout several states.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and their spouses and two grandchildren.

A private family funeral service was held on November 28, 2025.

Dr. Don Loveless Sr.’s life was one of service, deep faith, and unconditional love for his family. May his memory continue to inspire and touch those who knew him.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Don Loveless, Sr. to: First Methodist Church, Missions Department, 1115 S.
