Esther Loraine Baldwin Marr passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning November 25, 2025, in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born November 27, 1937, to William Elliot Baldwin and Celia Ricley Baldwin in McCook, Nebraska. She graduated from McCook High School in 1955 and then moved to Denver, Colorado. She worked in Banking in Denver for a brief period then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and joined several of her brothers and sisters there. She met Dr. James F. Marr while volunteering at the then Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital gift shop and they married on July 1, 1960, in Tulsa.
Esther was involved in many endeavors over the years, she worked in Banking, the Petroleum industry, she was a volunteer Gillie at Gilcrease Museum for several years and very much enjoyed telling visitors about the collection there. She also was a realtor with the Ken Schooley Company, and active in the Osage Territory Muzzleloaders along with her husband and children for many years and lastly was the office manager for Dr. James Marr and Dr. W.F. Kempe at Southwest Clinic in west Tulsa. Her most treasured job and greatest joy was being mom to her two children, Celia and Byron (Buzz), grandma to Devin and Kyra and “Gigi” to her great granddaughter, Jemma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, son Byron (Buzz), her parents, William and Celia Baldwin and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter Celia and her husband Rick Springer of Claremore OK, grandson Devin Springer and his wife Heather Borland, granddaughter Kyra Johnson and her husband Ryan of Norman OK and their daughter, Jemma. Esther is also survived by her sister, Elsie Baldwin, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her beautiful bright blues eyes, her infectious smile and her mischievous and playful nature will be missed by us all.
Celebration of Life will be Monday January 5th at the chapel on the grounds of Memorial Park Cemetery, 51st and Memorial, Tulsa at 10 am.
