Harley Clinton Hunter was born March 7, 1941, in Tulsa, OK to Hiram Clinton Hunter and Ruth (Rawlings) Hunter and passed from this life in the family home Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the age of 84.
He was a devoted member of Evangelistic Temple (now Spirit Life Church) for 76 years and served on its board for 34 years. He also served as a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader, deacon, and ET Ski Club director. He served as president of Tulsa Executive Association (TEA). and was the founder and former owner of Grandfather's Clock Gallery, established in 1987 with his wife Mary Ellen in Tulsa. His legacy in clock craftsmanship endures through the family-run business.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ellen Hunter; his son Michael Hunter of Hot Springs, AR and his wife Carol; his daughter Michele Cole of Jenks, OK and her husband Steve; his grandsons Houston Hunter of Bentonville, AR, and Hayden Hunter of Owasso, OK; his step grandson Tim Owen and his wife, Kaylie of McKinny TX; and his, his step granddaughter Raechal Garner of Dallas TX; he is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn and Danny Russell of Altus OK, Judy Evans of Jenks OK; and Jeanie and Robert Smith of Broken Arrow OK; his step sister, Terri Wensel and her husband, Ray of Middleburg, FL; his step brother, Ken Fultz and Jo Lynn; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Kenneth Hunter and his sister, Verna Katherine Hunter.
Harley passed from complications form Autonomic Neuropathy.
