Janet McCoy Mercer passed away on March 9, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 69. She was born on May 18, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Janet graduated from Charles C. Mason High School with the Class of 1975 and continued her education at William Woods University and Oklahoma State University. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

She built a career in real estate and worked as an agent with McGraw Realtors, where she valued the relationships she built while helping others find a place to call home.

Janet was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa and was honored to serve on the Board of Deacons, Class of 2025. She was also active in the community as a member of the Junior League of Tulsa and served on the Advisory Board for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tulsa.

Janet loved traveling and spending time outdoors. She especially enjoyed sailing, snow skiing, and playing golf, and she had a special love for dogs.

Above all, Janet was devoted to her family. A caretaker at heart, she was known as the family member who always showed up—ready to celebrate, support, and share in the important moments of those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jean McCoy, and her uncle, Charles Barbre and is survived by her husband, Jon Mercer; her mother, Sally McCoy; her daughter, Samantha McDaniel; her brothers, John McCoy and James McCoy and his wife Susan; her nephew, John McCoy and his wife Keely-Shaye; her nieces, Mackenzie McCoy, Mercedes McCoy, and Cassie McCoy; her great-nephew, Oliver McCoy; her uncle, Robert Barbre; her daughter-in-law, Tiffany Sellman and her husband, Mark; her daughter-in-law, Tammi Bailey; her son-in-law, John Mercer; and her granddaughters-in-law, Lyric Sellman and Brittany Mercer Garza. 

Janet will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to family and friends, and the care she showed to others throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa.
