Bill Hogan Obituary
William R. “Bill” Hogan passed away on March 18, 2026, at age 84. Bill was born in Tulsa, OK on May 31, 1941. In 1952 his father transferred from the Brookside Post Office to the Post Office in the Panama Canal Zone. Bill attended school in Cristobal, Canal Zone graduating from Cristobal High School in 1959. Following high school, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he was assigned to duty stations in Idaho, Alaska, Turkey, Vietnam, Italy, Texas, Hawaii, Greece, Washington State, Okinawa and California. He retired from the Air Force in 1985 as a Senior Master Sergeant with 26 years of active service. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Force Commendation with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Humanitarian Service Medal for his work following the eruption of Mount St. Helens in May 1980, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, he went to work with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. After 2 years he joined the McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company in St. Louis and remained with the company when it was bought by the Boeing Company. He retired from Boeing in 2004. While in the Air Force, Bill enrolled in college courses wherever he was and in 1974 he graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He later attended the Police Administration Institute at the University of Southern California. While in Omaha, he met and married Catherine Mullikin.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Memorial Park Cemetery where full military honors will be performed by Tinker Air Force Base.
