Benediktson - Marjorie (Midge) Walters, passed away peacefully in Tulsa on May 5, 2009 at 91. Born in Howard County, Nebraska, January 3, 1918, she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska. Midge headed west to California and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944, obtained the rank of 1st lieutenant and was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon and the Victory Medal. She met Einar Benediktson in San Francisco, California. They married and had two sons, John and Tom, whom they raised in Turlock. She was an avid and skilled bridge player, Oakland A's fan, loved to tell stories and spend time with her grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; husband, Einar and son, John. Midge is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Caroline Benediktson and their sons, Sam and Dan; daughter-in-law, Liz and her sons, T.C. and Chris. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home Chapel, 39th and S. Peoria.
