Obituary of Margaret Meyer

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Jean (Lutz) Meyer was born November 24, 1926 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Leo and Jennie (Brown) Lutz and passed from this life on August 8, 2009 with her family at her side. From an early age Margaret wanted to be a nurse and achieved that goal as a registered nurse, graduating from St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. After a long courtship as high school sweethearts she married John E. Meyer in Hoisington, Kansas more than sixty one years ago. They enjoyed an exciting life, living in numerous locations where she was always able to adapt to new living situations and different houses which she readily made into comfortable homes for her family. Although her children and John were paramount in her life, she had a variety of interests including the Salvation Army Auxiliary, Tulsa Garden Club (past president), Early American Glass Club (past president), former member of the administrative board of the Boston Avenue Church, and she really had fun with all the members of the "birthday club". At Southern Hills, she was an original member of the 9-hole women's golf association. In retirement years, she and John traveled extensively throughout the world. And for over the last five years, have enjoyed being with many friends at Montereau in Warren Woods. Survivors include her husband John; sister Patricia Lutz; daughters Cindy Bell, Jan Nicodemus and Betsey Wieding; and son Jack Meyer. Also surviving are her grandchildren Joe Caputo, Lisa Crawford, Dan Caputo, Megan McCollam, Katie McCollam, Katie Sullivan and Briana McAtee and three great-grandchildren Joey and Kylie Caputo and Amani McCollam-Mudd. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Auxiliary or the charity of your choice. To make an online donation simply click below: http://www.epartnersingiving.com/margaretjeanmeyer Ninde Brookside 918.742.5556 www.ninde.com
