Obituary of David Clopp

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David Lynn Clopp was born September 14, 1963 at Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was forever "The baby", since he was the 6th child born to Lorraine (Webb) Clopp and John Gearl Clopp. He always felt it was unfair that he had no baby brothers or sisters because everyone else did. He ultimately became a genuine foster father, unselfishly providing care for children that God placed in his path. When he was 8 months old the family moved to Pawhuska where they lived about 1 ½ years then moved back to their home in Dewey, OK. David attended grade school at Dewey until the 4th grade when the family moved to Limestone Corner, on the South edge of Bartlesville where he attended Limestone School. He then attended Madison Junior High and Sooner High School, moving once again to Tulsa where he finished his junior and senior years and graduated from East Central High School. During the time in Dewey and Bartlesville the family attended Tuxedo Assembly of God and First Assembly of God in Bartlesville. Under the direction of Betty Calabrese, he played a part in the Christmas play and even got to sing a song. Later at East Central High School, he also played The Grave Digger in the play "Our Town", and played kettle drum in the school orchestra. David graduated from Tulsa Welding School and worked as a welder for a number of years. His care and compassion were also evident in his years of service at the Gatesway Foundation. In later years he got a CDL license and began driving the big "18-wheelers". He drove for Coke a few years, commuting to Okmulgee OK, and then changed jobs, hauling for Alliance Transportation in Tulsa. David enjoyed Disc Golf at McClure Park, playing in the Master's Division and was an excellent Chess player. He was a skilled carpenter. He also liked to cook, as well as go camping and fishing. In November of 1990, following 2 ½ years of being on dialysis, his sister Cathie gave him one of her kidneys and 9 years of an extended life. Following hospitalization with Pancreatitis, followed by continued complications with his heart, kidney and lungs, his heart succumbed to the continued stress. He left us to go home at 12:35 AM on Wednesday, September 09, 2009, just 5 days before his 46th birthday. He is survived by his wife of ten years, Nadra KING SALZANO CLOPP, along with his stepdaughter Stephanie CREASON. Other family members who will miss him greatly are his Mother: Lorraine CLOPP; his Father: John Gearl CLOPP and wife Theresa; Sisters: Susie EDWARDS and husband Don; Linda LEWIS and husband Danny; Cathie LEWIS and husband Rick; Brothers: Stephen and Timothy CLOPP. Neices: Holly EDWARDS CONWAY and husband Bobby; Sarah EDWARDS FEHLAUER and husband Josiah; Emily HEWITT BRANCH and husband Wade. Nephews: Tyler HEWITT and Thaddeus "Tad" TURLEY. He is also survived by those he loved and considered his extended family: Coy RIGSBY, Andrea RIGSBY, and "grandson" Hunter RIGSBY; Shane and Candie LUSHENKO; Shannon and Crystal LUSHENKO and Faith; Sharry SUMMERS, Brooke BIASELLI, Preston, Gage, Weslyan, Courtnae, and Kalyn.
