Obituary of Kendall Kerr

Kendall Kerr, 93, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. He was born March 16, 1922 in Chickasha, OK to Lester & Ruby (Goodall) Kerr. Kendall attended El Reno High School and received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma A & M. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II. When he returned he met and married Anita Ratterman, his loving wife of 67 years. In 1949 they moved to Tulsa where he worked as a Hydraulic Engineer for the Corps of Engineers and Southwestern Power Administration, retiring in 1986. Kendall was a charter member of the Church of Saint Mary. He enjoyed traveling, reading, listening to music, poetry, square dancing, spending weekends at the lake with family and friends; especially boat rides and weenie roasts with his grandchildren. Known for his quick wit, he will be missed by all who knew him. Kendall was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anita, who passed away on October 31, 2014; his step-mother, Pearl (Ashley) Kerr; his brother, Lester Kerr; and his sister, Marilyn Fields. He is survived by his sister, Julia Ann Crump of El Reno, OK; his step-sister, Vyvela Harless and husband Ronald of Kemp, TX; his step-brothers, Glenn Robinson and wife Carlyn of Chickasha, OK and Byron Robinson of Arizona. He is further survived by his daughter, Carole Guy and husband Ken; his sons, Roger Kerr, Ron Kerr and wife Susan, and Douglas Kerr; his grandchildren, Kevin Guy, Kelly Watts and husband Andrew, Jonathan Kerr, L Cpl Michael Kerr; and his great granddaughters, Madison, Peyton and Hailey Watts all of Tulsa, OK. A rosary service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday and a memorial mass service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, both at Church of Saint Mary, 1347 E 49th Place, Tulsa, OK 74105.
