Obituary of Michael Anthony Cox

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michael Anthony Cox was born the eighth of ten children to Earlean & Horace Cox on a cold winter day, January 31, 1960 and passed from this life on August 25, 2019 at the age of 59.

Michael received his formal education from the Tulsa Public School system and graduated from Raymond S. McLain High School in 1980.  In addition to gaining an education he fathered his daughter, Tericka Chandler, whom he cherished.  A man of faith Michael was baptized in the Antioch Baptist Church at an early age.  He was a great artist and in his drawing he specifically was drawn to his true passion; the art of food.  In turn he became a great cook and served as such in several Tulsa area restaurants.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Coylene Nicely; and his brother, Donald Cox.  He is survived by his daughter, Tericka Chandler; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Cox, Ronald & Cynthia Cox, John Cox, and Edward & LaJuanta Cox; his sisters, Ann Cox, LaVerne Rogers and Zelma Cox; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a very dear and special friend, Sandra Richardson.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Antioch Baptist Church, 110 W 56th St N, Tulsa, OK 74126.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Grace Hospice for their kind care and to all who have stood with them during these sad times.  To all that is present today we pray the Lord bless you and keep you.  Thank you so much!
