Obituary of Sally Jane Murray

Please share a memory of Sally to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our dear mother, Sally Jane Murray, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the age of 77.  Sally was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 2, 1946, and she lived and worked in Tulsa through her entire life.  She was one of three daughters lovingly raised by Jane and Charles Adam Mohr.  Her caring and loving nature was felt by her friends, family, children, and grandchildren in all corners of the world.

Sally had an innate understanding of people and paid close attention to personal details.  She would often surprise her friends and family with gifts they may have barely mentioned to her or didn’t even know they needed.  Professionally, as an investment broker and financial planner, she always took the time to understand her clients and developed successful financial plans to address her clients’ needs.  For the past couple of years, Sally worked part-time as a FINRA arbitrator where she drew on her securities and life experience to help resolve difficult disputes.

Because of her outgoing, caring, and attentive nature, Sally is survived by many friends ranging from life-long elementary school friends to recent acquaintances who were fortunate enough to have met her.  Sally never met a stranger and was known to catch some off-guard with questions or suggestions when she did.  Sally genuinely cared about people and took every opportunity to brighten someone’s day or somehow make their life better.

Sally’s positive impact on the lives of all she befriended meant so many things to all who knew her.  It would be impossible to recite a single story or anecdote to describe how much Sally meant to her friends and family.  But some of Sally’s impact can be felt with just a few words: Loving Mom.  Mimi.  Sister.  Best friend.  Hey girlie!  Sister girls.  Roommate.  Confidant.  Red fingernails.  Best dressed.  Incredibly talented.  Meticulous planner.  Organized junk drawer.  Attentive.  Detailed.  Confident.  Fearless.  Genuine.  Amazing woman.  Fighter – for herself and others.

Sally leaves behind her sisters, Joanne Replogle and Cindy Mohr, her daughters Marni (Eric) Eickelman, Amy (Thad) Musgraves, and Lindsay (Mike) Thompson, her grands Jordan (Jacob) Moeder and Logan Eickelman, Ava and Lillian Musgraves, and Mitchell and Charles Thompson, and numerous friends who will all miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at First Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the American Heart Association in memory of Sally.
