Kathyrn Louise Daugherty was promoted and taken to her reward on March 5, 2009. She was born on 12/1/1916 in Lafayette, Indiana to Ermal Reed and Pearl Rose Ramey. She was the oldest of 6 children including 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She married Joseph W. Daugherty on July 3, 1938 who preceded her to heaven on January 30, 1996. Kay was best known for her exuberant energy, unwavering love for her family and for her Church. She was always concerned more for others than herself. She and Joe were instrumental in helping start Memorial Drive Methodist Church. In 1953, they moved their membership to First United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the Joynor Class, and volunteered as a greeter at the information desk and worked in the Church Library, The Bookworm, until she moved to the Baptist Village of Owasso, where she began attending the First Methodist Church of Owasso. Her community service includes starting the Blue Birds in the Tulsa area, counselor and Director of the board of the Camp Fire Girls, started the Eastgate 4-H Club and was active for 20 years, received the Oklahoma 4-H Alumni Recognition Award. She was asked to be on the Board of the East Side YWCA and was given a lifetime membership for her work. She also found time to be the first recording secretary of the OSU Mom's Club. The second year she was elected President. Outside of her church, her family was her pride and joy. She is survived by 3 children, daughter Diana Joy and husband Jim Harbolt, of Oklahoma City, grandsons Brent Harbolt of Oklahoma City, Todd Harbolt and wife Janet of Oklahoma City, great grand daughters Halle and Cassie, son Chuck Daugherty, wife Patty, grandson Joshua, of Owasso, and son Fred Daugherty of Wylie, Texas, and grandsons Nate of Dallas and Jonathan, of San Marcos, Texas. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Tulsa, on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 1:00pm.
