Obituary of Paul Jones

Paul Douglas Jones was born January 21, 1942 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Douglas S. and Norma June (Graybeal) Jones and passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the age of 67. In 1966, upon completion of his educational pursuit, Paul and his brother Jim enlisted together in the United States Navy. Paul served on both the USS Vega and the USS New Jersey. He served two tours in Vietnam and returned stateside in 1970. He later enlisted in the Air National Guard retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. In addition he was employed at the Zebco manufacturing plant for sixteen years retiring last year. Paul loved the outdoors whether camping, riding his BMW motorcycle, or just enjoying nature. A talented and caring man he will be missed by all who knew him. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, Remia Tan Jones; his son, Scott Jones; his daughter and her husband, Jana & Ryburn McCullough; his step daughters, Denise and her husband Tony Schafer and Marie and her husband Chris Hill; his brother, Jim and his wife Barbara Jones; his grandchildren: Britt, Carson and Brody McCullough, Jenilynn and her husband David Baldus; Daniel and Ysabella Hill, Pierson Schafer and soon to be born, Chase Schafer; his great grandson Kayden Brown; and one great granddaughter to be born in July, Mattie Marie. In addition, Paul leaves behind two nephews, David & Zack Jones and their families and many friends and loved ones. Paul will lie in state Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home with a funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday at Adventist Fellowship, 15303 E. 21st Street.
