Obituary of Benjamin E. Kitchell

Benjamin "Ben" Elwood Kitchell was born Dec. 8, 1921 in Haileyville, OK. He died April 12, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife LaVonne Vivian "Pat" Seibert Kitchell and his love of the past 18 years, Mary Frances Cantrell. He is survived by his brother Lloyd Clifford Kitchell and his wife Bonnie of Midwest City, OK; extended family and many friends. Ben grew up and attended school in Shawnee and served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. Ben was a superintendent for the oil & gas well service division of the Dow Chemical Company and retired after 30 years in 1982. He was a proud member and past president of the Tulsa Men's Club. Ben enjoyed family & friends, Golden Hurricane sports, The Dallas Cowboys, college football, bowling and keeping an immaculate lawn. He was the life of the party and his optimistic, jovial spirit was contagious. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Ninde Brookside Chapel.
