Obituary of Ruth Holt

Holt, Ruth Sophie, 93, longtime resident of Tulsa and beloved mother, sister aunt, stepmother, step-grandmother and friend to many passed away Sunday May 7, 2006. she was born November 18, 1912 in Fairland, OK to Josephine and Christian Kosted. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker for many Tulsa residents and ran her business for many years out of her home. She will forever be remembered for her unselfish generosity, deep faith and ability to make friends and touch hearts. She was a longtime member of the both Grace and Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Churches and the Rebekah Circle Women's Group. All those who knew and loved her will deeply miss her. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as her husband Sigel Chester Holt of Tulsa, OK, brothers, Arthur and Laurence Kosted, of Oklahoma City, OK and stepson Edwin Hold of Tulsa, OK. Her greatest love and support went to her family. She is survived by; her son, Robert E. Holt, sister and stepson Christeline and Wade Holt, nephews and nieces Mark Holt and wife Jane, Jim Holt and wife Rosemary, Helen Blake, Karen Gribbin and husband Dave, all of Tulsa, Phillip Kosted of Rusk, TX, Paul Kosted of Oklahoma City, OK, Charles Kosted of Austin, TX, Randy Kosted of MT, Carolyn Durrett of Shelby, NC, Joyce Boltinghouse of Oklahoma City, OK, Marsha Wright of Oklahoma City, OK, step-grandchildren, Alan Holt and Nancy Baginski, of Tulsa, as well as 22 grand nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Ruth's friends and the staff at Saint Simeon's for their loving support, thoughts and prayers. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Ninde Woodland Chapel, 5757 S. Memorial. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 11, at Christ The Redeemer Lutheran Church with interment following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Rebekah Circle.
