Harrison, James Eugene, "Jim", 84, of Tulsa, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went to be with Jesus Monday, May 15, 2006. Jim was born January 28, 1922 in Iola, KS to Gene and Paula (Doggett) Harrison. He earned his Air Force Wings at Ellington Field, Texas and served as a training pilot serving in WWII. Following graduation from Washington University in St. Louis, MO on June 12, 1947 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in business administration, he joined his father in the shoe business with a group of stores in southeastern Kansas until 1963. Jim was in the insurance business for the past 30 years as a Modern America Insurance Representative out of Dallas, TX traveling the State of Oklahoma. Jim was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since October 3, 1971, being a delegate of the Tulsa District and the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church. He held every committee chairmanship of Trinity UMC, a certified Lay Speaker, preaching and singing solos at Trinity UMC. He was Treasurer of Cookson Hills Mission and taught Disciples I and Disciples II and was a teacher in the Ambassador Class. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Gladys Harrison. He is survived by 2 step-children, Ken Fultz and his wife, Jo Lynn, of Tulsa; Terri Wensell and her husband, Ray, of Middleburg, FL; his children, Gene Harrison, of Kansas City, MO and twins, Larry Harrison and his wife, Kathi, of Eureka Springs, AR, Linda Sue Harrison, of Phoenix, AZ, and their mother Helen Virginia Gard Harrison of Eureka Springs, AR; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Mullarky and her husband, Bill, of Prairie Village, KS and 3 nephews. Services will be Friday, May 19, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church, interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3737 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK 74105, the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
