Obituary of G. Baldwin

Geneva June (Cartwright) Baldwin was born April 21, 1915 on a ranch in the panhandle of Texas to Wilford Joseph and Ella Irene (Burnett) Cartwright and passed from this life October 26, 2009 at the age of 94. June moved to Amarillo, Texas at the age of 12, finished high school and took a post graduate course which secured her a position as a dental assistant for Dr. Fannin Q. Kelleam of Sallisaw, Oklahoma for ten years. She met Kenneth C. Baldwin of Tulsa, Oklahoma on a Greyhound bus during the end of World War II and married him August 17, 1946 in the Rose Chapel of Boston Ave United Methodist Church. They lived in Lawton, Oklahoma for 4 years where they birthed three sons prior to moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1952. June participated in the Young Men's Club, Senior Club and was a charter member in Southwood, Cedar Ridge and the Oaks Country Club. She worked with her husband as a real estate agent until her retirement in 1980. She spent her last years walking with her dogs and going to Las Vegas until Mr. Baldwin's death in April of 2001. She enjoyed her yellow Mustang GT convertible, dancing, family and had a zest for life. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Dr. John Baldwin, D.O. and her sister, Maxine Waite; June is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Kenneth C. and Linda Baldwin, William H. and Becky Baldwin, and Robert H. Baldwin; her daughter, Karen Wilson; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home Chapel.
