Katherine Koehne Stone, our Mother, Grammy, "GiGi" passed away on November 21, 2009 at the age of 96 years young. Katherine was born to Theodore and Marie Koehne on May 1, 1913 in Coffeyville, KS. She graduated from Coffeyville High School where she was on the honor roll and was their cutest cheerleader. She worked as a bookkeeper before moving to Tulsa to join her older sister, Margaret. On a blind date she met her future husband, John B. Stone. "He was so handsome and loved to dance" so it was love at first sight. They married on August 9, 1938, and for many years enjoyed golfing at Oaks Country Club and Indian Springs/Rolling Hills Country Club. She played golf until she was 89 and "too slow". She was a shining example of her faith and commitment to God. At the age of 89 she became a Deacon and served with devotion to Southminster Presbyterian Church where she was a member for 52 years. Katherine loved raising her three children and found time for her sewing and cooking. She was famous for her delicious pies. She enjoyed bridge with her many bridge buddies.
