Obituary of Lorene Roberts

Lorene A. Roberts was born June 15, 1912 in Owasso, Oklahoma to Thomas J. and Retta Maude (Blakemoore) Allsup and passed from this life December 15, 2009 at the age of 97. Lorene was a member of the Turley Methodist Church for many years until she and her husband Harold retired from Douglas Aircraft Company and moved to Talala, Oklahoma. After her husbands' death in 1984 she returned to Tulsa and joined the Will Rogers Methodist Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts through Ceramics and Crocheting and always had these objects displayed throughout her house. Her love of the outdoors was exemplified through her gardening and love of flowers. She always had flower gardens and spent many hours among them. Lorene lived in her own home until March 2007. She spent the remainder of her life at the Evergreen Care Center in Owasso Oklahoma. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Roberts; her daughter, Judy Kay Trigg; her son, Jerry Ervin Roberts; her sisters, Oleta Burns, Mildred Worley and Marcella Bone; and her brothers, William Allsup, Odell Allsup and Buel Allsup, Lorene is survived by her daughters, Pattie Sue Gainer, JoAnn Streets and Harolene Eaton; her sisters, Laverne Worley, Gladys Willis and Darlene Baldridge; her brothers Joe Allsup, Kenneth Allsup and Tommy Allsup; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Lorene will lie in state 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday and a funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, both at the Ninde Woodland Funeral Home Chapel.
