Christman, Twana, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006. Twana was born in Hope, AR on May 28, 1933 to Henry O. and Willie L. (Foster) Green who preceded her in death. She attended Hope High School graduating in the class of 1951. She attended St. Vincent's Infirmary School of Nursing (Little Rock, AR) receiving a RN degree in September 1954. That year, she married Dr. Daniel Christman, had two children, and lived in several cities including San Antonio, TX and Belleville, IL before settling in Tulsa, OK in July 1964. Following divorce in 1970, she resumed a career outside the home working as a psychiatric nurse, first at St. Francis Hospital and later at Laureate Psychiatric Hospital. She also resumed her education receiving a M.A. in Literature from the University of Tulsa. Twana loved activities in her church home, Bethany Christian, frequently mentioning the many members who enriched her life. She served on many committees and as a church elder. She was a busy community volunteer involved in Sojourner Hospice Care, Community Action, Crisis Hotline, Tulsa Metropolitan Ministries, Tulsa Library Book Club, and Green Country Hospice Care. She especially enjoyed the Northeast Oklahoma Active Timers (NEATS) where she had served as President, Board Chair and Chair of the Oversight Committee. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Dr. Dana E. Christman-Runsabove and Matthew, of Las Cruces, NM and Dr. Brian W. Christman and Dr. Julia Thompson Christman, of Nashville, TN, two grandchildren, Grace Catherine Christman and Seth Michael Christman, both of Nashville, TN and many other friends and loved ones. Memorial service 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2006 Bethany Christian Church (6730 S. Sheridan Road).
