Sue Wever Heath, 95, passed away July 9, 2006. She was born August 13, 1910 in McAlester, OK to Milo and Lelah Wever. She graduated from McAlester High School, where she actively participated on a debate team which included Carl Albert who later became speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Sue attended Christian College in Missouri and the University of Oklahoma. She married Jack Heath in Tulsa and had three sons, Jim, Bob and Charles. The family moved to Wichita, KS during WWII and then to McAlester where she taught her children the value of work on a small farm that she and her boys developed. She moved back to Tulsa in 1952 where she worked at Douglas Aircraft retiring in 1972. In Tulsa, Sue and Jack formed a China Painting business, The Shadow Box, where she sold and painted china. She was renowned for her painted glass lamp shades. Sue was a member of International Porcelain Artists and Teachers, Inc., World Organization of China Painters, and Porcelain Artists of Oklahoma, Inc.. After Jack passed away she moved the Shadow Box to her home studio where for 18 years she taught classes in china and glass lampshade painting. In 1968, Sue began to fulfill her desire to travel. Over the next 17 years she, with her many friends, enjoyed 12 trips around the world including most of Europe, Canada and China. Sue was a lifelong Presbyterian and attended Yale Ave. Presbyterian Church for 50 years. She was preceded in death by mother, Lelah, Father Milo Wever, husband Jack, Son, Bob, step-daughter Jacqueline and grandchild Sharon Heath. Survivors: Son: Jim and his wife Pat; Bob's wife, Hester, Charles and former daughter-in-law Carol; grandchildren, Brad Heath, Susan Johnson, Mike Heath, Bob Heath, Michelle Boice, Debrah Tiernan and Denise Trumpfeller; step-grandchildren, Mike Roper and Pam Bizzle. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Yale Ave. Presbyterian Church.
