Obituary of Joseph Tumelson

Joseph Ralph (J.R.) Tumelson, 95, died Wednesday July 12, 2006 in the Norman Regional Hospital, Norman, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Floral Haven Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW 5th District Honor Guard. Mr. Tumelson was born on December 30, 1910 in Yale, Illinois to J.O. and Catherine (Baker) Tumelson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Army flight instructor. After he moved to Tulsa and he and Pearl Burnette were married in 1943 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was associated with the Gilmore and Wilson Construction Company as yard maintenance for 19 years. He was a member of the Jenks Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Pearl of the home, two daughters, Beverly Peevy house of Jenks and Sandy Gray of Noble, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
