James J. Crockett was born November 5, 1925 in Mulberry, AR to Hollis and Lottie (Plymale) Crockett. He passed from this life Friday, July 14, 2006 at the age of 80 years. He was a 1941 graduate of Ft. Smith, AR High School and a 1951 graduate of the University of Tulsa. While earning his education, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant and received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart during World War II and also served in the Korean War. Jim was a Land Developer and Home Builder in both Tulsa and Edmond, OK for the majority of his career. He also served as Sr. Vice President of Cimarron Bank in Muskogee, OK and was a 32 degree Mason receiving his 50 year pin this year. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris of the home; son, Jeff Crockett of Tulsa; daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Philip Heck of Edmond, OK; 3 grandchildren, Zachary Crockett of Minneapolis, MN, Heidi Crockett of Gainesville, FL and Alicia Heck of Edmond, OK. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Sunday at Ninde Woodland Funeral Home, 5757 S. Memorial. Funeral service is 10:00 AM Monday at Ninde Woodland Chapel with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
