Obituary of Estelle Arrowood

Please share a memory of Estelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Estelle Cordelia Chandler Arrowood was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on May 18, 1914, the third of eleven children born to Verna Cumi and Prince Albert Chandler. She had four half siblings, John, Martha, Rachel, and Walter. P.A. and Verna had ten other children as well: Gladys, Haskell, Lige, Wanette, Ray, Clyde, Launa, Andy, Gene, and Buford (L.B.). Estelle's large family worked as sharecroppers in Oklahoma, California, and Colorado. After Estelle graduated from Edmond High School, she attended college at Central State. After receiving her Associate's Degree in education, she taught in a one-room school house where she not only prepared lessons and taught students but prepared lunch and stoked the fire. She married George Harold Arrowood on August 11, 1934. Their union produced two sons, Harold Wayne and Larry Dean. After living in Wetumka, Okemah, Stroud, and Sand Springs, the Arrowoods finally settled in Berryhill in 1953. She worked as a group leader at Oral Roberts' Evangelistic Association from 1955 to 1986. She was a member of Carbondale Assembly of God Church for many years. She loved the Lord and walked with Jesus her entire life. She taught Sunday School for many years at Home Gardens Assembly of God, Western Hills Assembly of God, and Carbondale Assembly of God. She is survived by her brother Andrew Chandler of Quartz Hill, California, sister Launa Beiter of Victorville, California, her son Larry and his wife Dolores, her grandson Jimmy and his wife Jennfier, and her great-grandson James and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Acknowledgements "I just want to say one more big thanks to my children Harold Wayne, Larry, Dee, and Jim for everything you have done to make my life more bearable since Harold went to his reward. I, too, have an appointment with my Heavenly Father to fulfill. I also want to say thanks to my Pastor, brothers and sisters, and church family. But most of all, I want to say thanks to Jesus who has kept me here and prepared me a better place to come to (Praise God). Again, I say thanks." --Estelle
