Obituary of Marie Fritz

Marie Violet Fritz passed from this life on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. She was born on September 21, 1914 in Parthenon, AR, the fifth child to Pearl (Culbertson) Hudson and Rufus Calvin Hudson. Marie was one of eight children; four boys and four girls who grew up on a beautiful hilltop farm outside of Jasper, AR. After graduating from Jasper High School in 1931, Marie attended Russellville Business College. During World War II, Marie moved to Tulsa to work at Douglas Aircraft and McNamara Industries where she met Charles A. Fritz and they married in 1951. They became proud parents to their only child, Janie two years later. Marie became a "stay at home" mom, Bluebird Leader, Sunday school teacher, fabulous cook and meticulous seamstress. Marie loved being a grandmother to Janie's boys, Brett and Michael, who called her "Nonnie". After Charlie passed away in 2005, Marie moved to Tulsa to live with her sister. In 2009, Marie moved to Saint Simeon's Memory Center where she received excellent care. Marie was preceded in death by her, husband of 54 years, Charles Fritz; brothers, Darrel, Coy and Troy Hudson and a sister, Jewel Hudson Bunch. Marie is survived by her daughter, Jane Fritz Cleverdon, of Tulsa, OK; grandsons, William Brett Cleverdon, of Midland, TX and Michael Andrew Cleverdon, of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Flora Hudson Villines and Dossie Hudson Madewell, both of Owasso, OK; brother, John Hudson, of Ft. Smith, AR; sisters-in-law, Martha Fletcher and Virginia Zarate, both of Tulsa, along with 16 nieces and nephews. Marie lived a very long and happy life. What a journey she experienced in her 95 years!!! Viewing will take place at 4:00 P.M. Thursday and funeral service will follow at 5:00 P.M. Thursday both at Ninde Brookside Funeral Chapel.
