Violet Mae Cox
Violet Mae Cox was born December 31, 1919 in Sumner Co., Kansas to John Wesley and Mona (Pearce) Brann. She passed from this life Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the age of 86 years. She was a longtime Sumner County and Wellington resident. She was a member of Corbin United Methodist Church and then Wellington United Methodist Church. Violet and her husband, Dale moved to Jenks, Oklahoma in 1991.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 1 sister and her husband of 63 years, Forest Dale Cox who preceded her in 2002. Violet is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Bill Wheeler of Beulah, CO and Linda and Jim Furman of Tulsa, OK; 4 grandchildren, Maurya and Craig Ord of Brighton, CO, Greg Ramey and his wife Julie of Wellington, KS, Jay Furman and his wife, Melissa of Houston, TX, Erika and her husband Jon Reeves of Tulsa; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Flora Zimmerman and Rosemary Overton; brothers, Willard and Wesley Brann.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 13, 2006 at St. Anna's Chapel, St. Simeon's Episcopal Home, Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to St. Simeon's Home Foundation, 3701 N. Cincinnati Ave., Tulsa, OK 74106.
