Willa Masters Obituary

Willa Mae Bowlin Masters, age 88, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Evergreen Living Center in Owasso, OK where she had lived for several years. She was born on July 18, 1918 in Ketchum, OK to Rachel Lane and Leonard Bowlin. She was raised by Rachel and lived most of her young life in the Ketchum area until Rachel and Sam Hardrick moved to Vinita, OK in the early nineteen hundreds. She attended Attucks High School until she met and married Jack Masters at an early age. She continued to live with her mother's family until she divorced and moved to Tulsa OK where she joined the Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was employed for many years with Alvin Hotel and later with Oklahoma Natural Gas where she retired. One son was born on November 2, 1961 to her and Mr. Vernon Jackson. She is survived by a son, Vernon Jackson, Jr. and grandson, Vernon Jackson, III, of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Leonard Hardrick, of Vinita, OK; sisters, Dorothy Reed Jones, of Vinita, OK, Patsy Ryder, of Tulsa, OK and Bettye Goree, of Bartlesville, OK and a host of other relatives and friends. Service 10:00 A.M. Saturday Ninde Woodland Chapel interment 12:30 P.M. Saturday Ketchum Cemetery. Ninde Woodland Chapel 918-728-8500.
