Petros, Barbara (Sowders), 88, died on Thursday, November 23, 2006. Mrs. Petros was born October 1, 1918 in Tulsa, OK the daughter of Henry Clyette and Flora Valentine (Smith) Sowders. She was married Arthur Lee Petros for 68 years when he preceded her in death. She worked as a secretary for the Tulsa Public Schools at Bell Jr. High and Hamilton Jr. High. During their retirement years they traveled extensively throughout the United States. They were members of the Oklahoma Rollin' Rockers and the N.C.H.A.. She was an active member of the Metro Faith Christian Church. Survivors: Daughter: Connie Smith and her husband James H. of Tulsa, OK; her son: A. Lee Petros, Jr. and his wife Pam of Missouri City, TX; her Grandchildren: Laura Bales and her husband Gary of Houston, TX, Tony Petros and his wife Rhonda of Claremore, OK and Charles Petros of Orlando, FL.. The Family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Sunday at the Ninde Whisenhunt Funeral Home, 2211 E. 6th. Service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Rose Hill Abbey Mausoleum Chapel with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the Metro Faith Christian Church.
